William Jones holds a B.A. in Biology from Earlham College and M.S.
in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Johns Hopkins
University. William is bilingual in Spanish and English, and has
taught integrated bilingual science curriculum in both public and
private schools in Long Beach, CA, Washington, D.C., and Puerto
Rico, where he currently resides. William has contributed to nine
books for the American Geological Institute and led a development
program for Intel Corporation.

Alfonso Silva Lee a graduate of
Moscow State University, began his career in biology diving the seas
of his native Caribbean. His dedication to the land creatures was
initiated some twenty-five years ago as he began to observe, write
about and later photograph the life-forms that abound in the Greater
Antilles.
Alfonso has authored nine books on the subject—most of them for
young people—and over 50 scientific and magazine articles. He has
served as a biologist with a number of Cuban institutions and did
post-graduate study in conservation at Chicago’s University of
Illinois and the Field Museum of Natural History. His recent books
include Natural Puerto Rico (PANGAEA1996), Coral Reefs of the
Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida (MacMillan Educational 1998).

Rashid Abdur-Rahman grew up in New York City, where he attended the
High School of Music and Art. He received a B.F.A. in Art Education
at the Pratt School of Art and Design. Of Puerto Rican heritage,
Rashid returned to Puerto Rico to teach art. He was awarded a Mellon
Grant and appeared in the Who's Who of America's Best Teachers in
2003 and 2004. After a 28-year career, Rashid recently retired. His
focus now is to continue his own artistic growth. His paintings
appear in many private collections and have been exhibited in
Colombo (Sri Lanka), New York City and Ceiba (Puerto Rico).

Jeff Geiger has a B.A. in Spanish Literature from Earlham College,
an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas, and
has taken several semesters of post-Masters courses in Economics
from George Mason University. Jeff has worked as a Portuguese and
Spanish interpreter and as a business management consultant. He
currently works in Marketing for a state authority that promotes
Virginia exports.
